The Modular Fairphone 6 Delivers Two-Day Battery Life with a Sleek, Modern Design

The Fairphone 6, emphasizing sustainability and repairability, introduces a highly modular design with a two-day battery life and a contemporary aesthetic. Featuring a smaller and lighter build than its predecessor, it is equipped with a 4,415mAh battery that promises nearly two days of use on a single charge. Fast-charging capabilities allow the battery to reach 50% in just 25 minutes with a 30W charger.
One of its standout features is the modular construction; 12 replaceable parts include the battery, which can be swapped out easily after removing a few screws, thanks to the absence of glued components.
The device’s durability is rated at IP55, offering water and dust resistance suitable for everyday use but not for swimming. The Fairphone 6 sports a 6.31-inch OLED display with a 1,116 x 2,484 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade from the previous model’s 90Hz. It includes 256GB of storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD and is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip. Camera-wise, it features a 50MP main rear lens with up to 10x digital zoom, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera.
Although slightly downgraded in camera specifications compared to its predecessor, the smartphone runs on Android 15 with guaranteed updates until 2033 and a five-year warranty.
Additional features include the Fairphone Moments software, a minimalist focus mode activated via a side switch, which limits the display to five selected apps for productivity or relaxation.
The backplates can be customized with options like a cardholder, finger loop, or lanyard. Priced at €599 (approximately $695), the Fairphone 6 is available in three colors: Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black, emphasizing a future-proof, eco-conscious approach to smartphone design.
